One of the biggest problems that we've found over the years with books and worksheets: They show living environments and kids that are alien to the children we work with. Even the official school books of the National Council of Educational Research and Technology mostly show light skinned children from better off neighbourhoods. We want to connect learning to the concrete environments of our students.
